Ebenezer Smith, a self-acclaimed Ghanaian chef at the centre of breaking the world record for the longest marathon cooking by an individual, has admitted he scammed both Ghanaians and the world at large.
In a YouTube interview that aired today, Saturday, July 6, he told GhOne’s Serwaa Amihere that he did not apply to the Guiness World Record (GWR) and that he built his fake GWR application on Adu Safowaa’s (a Ghanaian lady who also embarked on a speech-a-thon) own to seek sponsorship for his contest.
He said he also faked the GWR certificate he brandished at his press conference in Accra on July 2, 2024.
“I apologise to the entire world. I don’t deserve to live,” he said.
