Entertainment critic Emmanuel Barnes, popularly known in showbiz as Mr Logic, has shared an account of how some thugs believed to be from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed the studios of UTV yesterday, October 7.
Speaking on United Showbiz, Mr Logic said he was forced to hide under a table in the station’s production room for over 45 minutes when the thugs broke into the studio.
“Whether they had guns, you don’t know. This is not right at all. It is not because we were not men to face them. This place (UTV) is a corporate area, so one could not directly fight back,” he said.
He said the moment felt as though all the pundits of the show were under attack as everybody ran for their lives, adding that he only became calm when he heard the thugs mention the name of A. Plus (Kwame Asare Obeng).
“They said they were looking for an A. Plus. It was terrible. If it was for the sake of the NPP agenda that they came, I think they should have handled things very peacefully. Why must you come and distract everything we are doing and run everybody out of the studio?” he asked.
Also making a contribution, musician and politician A Plus said he knew one of the said thugs.
“I have seen one of them. I will send you one guy’s photo (directing his message to Mr Logic). This guy (he showed a photo) works at COCOBOD. He is part of them; a youth organiser at Korle Klottey,” he said.
The Tesano Police intervened in the impasse, and they are currently investigating the case.
