A University of Ghana graduate, Jacinta Ama Tamakloe, who recently quit working with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority to focus on her private business, has encouraged the Ghanaian youth to strive and start their own ventures instead of waiting on non-existing white-collar jobs.
“Yes, education is good but you don’t have to wait for that white-collar job in the Ghana we know. If you don’t know anybody, you don’t get anywhere and even if you know somebody, it’s a whole different story,” she said.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Aniwaba.com’s Editor-in-Chief, Solomon Mensah, on the YouTube channel Aniwaba, Ms. Tamakloe said her business of selling “Amane”—smoked herrings—has been booming and that she made no mistake in quitting her white-collar job.
She holds a degree in Public Relations and a Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy
